The street portraits was born following the work of Mutual Impressions in which Barbara portrays, in a studio, unknown people who in turn photograph the author, posing each other according to the idea they made in the few minutes before shooting, without talking to each other.
In the first portraits taken on the street, the photographer asks to write an impression of the moment, the meeting or her. Today the important thing for Barbara is not the impression that her strangers have, but the relationship, the exchange, the moment of choice, yes and no, and how the waste is impressed, to be pinned in a notebook, almost as if they were unrequited loves.
